I build safety-critical embedded systems that have to keep working where nobody can reach them.

I work on the parts of a system that have to survive being installed and then ignored — firmware that reboots cleanly at 3am, sensors that keep reporting through a bad link, boards that run a model on a power budget nobody thought was enough.

Most of what I do sits across embedded Linux, edge AI, IoT data pipelines, predictive maintenance and hardware design. I teach as well, and I write up the problems that had no documentation when I hit them.

Embedded Linux
Yocto and Debian-based images, kernel and device tree work, boot and init on ARM64.
Edge AI
Quantising and deploying models to microcontrollers and SBCs with hard power limits.
Firmware
ESP32 and STM32 in C and C++, RTOS scheduling, low-power design, OTA update paths.
Hardware
Schematic capture, board bring-up, and the instrumentation to prove a fault is real.
